Cat Peeing on Bed? 2 simple Steps to Make Him Stop and Rediscover His Litterbox
I can still remember the smell. If there is one odour that stick in the nostrils like no other, it's that of a cat peeing on bed. It's a sort of pungent, acrid stink that lingers long after the cat has left his mark.
It took any quilts and even a mattress before I figured out a 2 step process to convincing my cat to go back to his litterbox.
The first thing you need to do to stop cat peeing on bed is to get rid of the smell.
Do Not use a general house cleaning solution. This will only make matters worse. Cat urine is pretty potent stuff and needs equally potent cleaner to eradicate the smell completely. Remember, even if you can't smell it, your cat might still be able to.
Go out and buy a bottle of Nature's Miracle. This stuff is worth it's weight in gold. You need to Soak the area with this stuff (don't worry it comes in big bottles) and let it dry.
The tricky part is holding the cat off the bed while the solution works it's magic.
The second step is to get out some aluminum foil.
Your cat won't want to step on the foil so will stay away from the bed. Make sure you punch lots of holes in it so that the Nature's Miracle can dry. Don't worry that it smells even worse after first applying as it's just the enzymes breaking down the compounds responsible for the smell.
If you want your cat to stop peeing on bed once and for all, you should try this advent first. It's worth mentioning, however, that there can be other causes that are production your cat leave his litterbox in the first place.
